B2B RHS Antiques Arcade 2018

ABOUT THIS FAIR:
B2B Events could be called a 'full service fair organiser'!The largest antiques fair in Scotland and the largest Flea Market in England are the compass points with a jam packed calendar built up over the past 11 years with the acquisition of many events, including the Kinver Antiques & Collectors Fair, the Edinburgh Antiques & Collectors Fair, the Kent International Antiques & Collectors Fair, the Antiques & Vintage Bazaar, and the Cranmore Park Vintage & Antiques Fair.  The fairs have been re-branded and added to the B2B portfolio which now includes an exciting collaboration with The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS)

May 2018 was the inaugural B2B Events RHS Malvern Antiques Arcade during the famous RHS Spring Festival which takes place in Malvern in May each year.

The 2019 Malvern RHS Spring Festival takes place 9-12 May and dealers are already digging in to plan their space to sell to a garden focused audience who are delighted to find one of a kind pieces at the hugely popular show – more than 100,000 visitors, to decorate their gardens and homes.

B2B RHS Antiques Arcade 2018 - inspiration for the 2019 theme:
Capturing a Moment in Time – Through the Lens’

WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT THIS FAIR:

We spoke to a few of the dealers returning from 2018:  John Smith founder of Smiths of Stratford on Avon, 55 years in the business, who deals in antiques and reclamation, will again be taking a 50 foot stand to show his eclectic stock which will this year include a 10 foot high Black Forest carved bear!

John told ANF:“We have been regulars at Malvern Flea & Collectors Fair for many years and we were very pleased with our sales at the B2B RHS Malvern Antiques Arcade, not just at the show but we actually sold as much again to new clients we met at the fair who came to our yard for the first time.  For us the first and last day were the best, we sold a huge amount on those days to the right kind of client.  The logistics worked well too, we kept our van on site and managed our deliveries during the day or in the evening.  We are really looking forward to the next show in May.”

Another delighted pair of customers were Peter and Carol Evans who stood in the Antiques Arcade last year and will be taking part again this year:

"We thoroughly enjoyed being part of the RHS Malvern Spring Show last year. We didn’t know how it would go as it was primarily a Flower Festival but we were very pleasantly surprised. We had a very busy 4 days selling and it was a fantastic atmosphere throughout the 4 days - albeit extremely tiring by the finish!  The public (most of whom had been going to the Show for years) all said how fantastic it was and thoroughly enjoyed the addition of an Antiques Arcade and hoped that it would be there the following year.  We sold a wide variety of items including china, vintage and retro items and quite a lot of small furniture. It was very different to the style of antiques and vintage fairs we usually stand at because the public had gone to look at and buy flowers, shrubs etc and they were very pleasantly surprised to find the Pavilion.”

Owner of B2B Events Helen Martin has been a fair organiser since she formed Back to Basics Events Ltd (B2B Events) with Roger Sumner (now retired) in 2006, having taken over the Malvern Antiques & Collectors Fair and the Malvern Flea & Collectors Fair.  Prior to that, she had been a dealer and exhibitor for over 30 years which clearly gives her a good insight into what the exhibitors and dealers need to make a successful event.

Helen told ANF: “In 2018 we hosted the first ever Antiques & Vintage Arcade within the shopping arcades experience at the Royal Horticultural Society Malvern Spring Festival, and we are delighted to be returning in 2019. As one of the UK’s largest flower shows, this hugely popular event attracts more than 100,000 people over the 4 days it is open. Featuring celebrity gardeners, leading horticultural experts, magnificent gardens and floral displays, alongside celebrity chefs and fabulous shopping it is an event for all the family.

Our Antiques & Vintage Arcade will be filled with enthusiastic expert dealers, visitors can expect an excellent choice of items at this shopping experience.

Each year the Festival has a theme. In 2019 it will be ‘Capturing a Moment in Time – Through the Lens’ and many of our dealers will embrace this theme in the way they adorn their stand and indeed the pieces they will offer for sale.”
