Scarab London - Blue topaz diamond & 18ct white gold split shank cluster ring. In the centre of
this contemporary 18ct white gold ring is a round cabochon cut blue topaz (also called London
blue topaz) with an estimated width of 11mm. The topaz is rubover set within a diamond set 18ct
white gold halo all above a sweeping 18ct white gold shank that ends in a diamond set finial to
form a split top shank. There are a total of 30 diamonds with a total estimated weight of 0.30ct.
The ring is hallmarked for 18ct gold. Priced at £2,550.

Yorkshire Furniture and Paintings Feature at Harrogate Antiques Fair A charming tea chest made in Hull during the Regency period recalls a time when loose tea was kept behind lock and tea will be among the many fabulous treasures going on sale on sale at The Pavilions of Harrogate Decorative Antiques & Fine Art Fair at the Yorkshire Showground from 19 – 21 January 2024. Exhibitor Mark Goodger told ANF: "This fine quality collector’s piece demonstrates how expensive and valuable tea was in the early 19th century. The front edge is stamped with a rare cabinet makers mark which reads: “R. Wright Bond Street Hull” a well-known maker featured in the directory of British and Irish Furniture Makers." |
Sutcliffe Galleries - A superb painting by William Mellor, ‘Bolton Abbey on the Wharf’ and will
be priced at £4,950.

Around 45 exhibitors, many from Yorkshire and North of England, will attend with prices range from £20 to £20,000. A superb painting by the Yorkshire artist William Mellor, ‘Bolton Abbey on the Wharf’, will be a major attraction on the stand of Sutcliffe Galleries from Harrogate. Born in Barnsley, in 1851, Mellor received much of artistic education in his father’s studio. He enjoyed a successful career travelling widely and working in Ilkley, Scarborough and Harrogate. He was inspired by the landscapes of North Wales and the Northeast, particularly Yorkshire. Today his paintings hang in national collections and his achievements are particularly regarded for his expert rendering of natural light, rich colour palette and classical composition. He died in Harrogate in 1931. ‘Bolton Abbey on the Wharf’ will be priced at £4,950. Joining Sutcliffe Galleries will be more Yorkshire antique dealers including Jack Shaw and Highland Antiques who both offer fine English and Scottish silver; John Newton Antiques who specialises in fine porcelain and studio pottery; Mark Buckley Antiques with fine and formal English antique furniture and Ellis Fine Art specialising in oil paintings and town furniture. Other specialists across the fair offer jewellery, ceramics, 20th century glass, Mid-Century Modern art and designs, period lighting, Art Nouveau and Art Deco. |
