Our friends over at Salvo have teamed up with our other friends over at The House Directory to gather expert restorers and craftspeople to compile a new Restoration Guide.

Sara Morel at Salvo:- Quick construction and fast furniture have created a rigid system of planned obsolescence, which encourages replacement rather than repair. You only have to look at Becky’s story on endangered craft skills to know we have a long way to go to rescue ourselves from this rigidity. The Salvo Directory has always featured restorers and craftspeople, but the truth is that many do not need publicity as their skills are in constant demand. However, we are using this opportunity to get in touch with new generations of craftspeople and highlight the restoration which takes place in salvage showrooms and reclamation yards with a new restoration guide.

We have teamed up with the House Directory to bring you the restorers and craftspeople you need to know to reinvigorate repair culture. Our restoration guide will be released in September during London Design Festival, so get in touch if your business offers restoration, innovative recrafting or heritage craftskills or if you have been seeking a restorer for something and would like to add your search to ours so that we may help you with this new guide.
