Solo Antiques - A magnificent and very rare pair of Art Nouveau silver ‘Lily’ Candlesticks by
William Comyns. The design shows the base slightly undulating in the form of a lily pad and with
a flower growing upwards forming the central part of the lily. Excellent design and condition.
Clear hallmarks to underside William Comyns London 1900. Approximate total weight 46 ounces.
Beautiful design and an excellent example of the skill of this renowned silversmith. Price £5250.

 

ABOUT THIS FAIR:

The 57th Annual Buxton Decorative, Antiques & Art Fair takes place, from 12-14 May 2023 at the Octagon, Pavilion Gardens, Buxton.

Featuring more than forty specialist fine art and antiques dealers from across the UK, the fair will also include a group of decorative specialists making a debut, broadening the appeal of the event to a wider market of younger homemakers and interior designers. They include John Wiseman Antiques, Feathered Interiors, King George Antiques, Skye’s Place and InVogue.

With prices from less than £50 to £5000, the fair offers an enticing mix of 20th century furniture, mirrors, garden accessories, country house pieces and striking statuary.

Organiser Sue Ede told ANF: "Our fair is now one of the leading antiques and art events in the country. Our exhibitors show everything from fine English furniture, jewellery, silver, ceramics, Art Nouveau and Art Deco to 20th century works of art by leading artists."

Among the well-known regular exhibitors will be Mark Buckley Antiques and William Cook Antiques with 19th and early 20th century English furniture and accessories; fine art specialists Granta Fine Art with 20th century works; Jo Bennett with Northern and contemporary oils and watercolours; and Rowles Fine Art with fine oil and watercolour paintings from the past 200 years.
