ADFL Flagship Petworth Park Fair acquired by 2Covet Group

Following on from the highly successful marketing collaboration for the May 2022 Petworth Park Antiques Fair edition between The Antiques Dealers Fair Limited and the 2Covet team who own Chelsea Antiques Fair, a formal acquision of the event has been announced by 2Covet. The next event, scheduled for 5-7 May 2023, will be managed by Sophie Wood, Fair Director of the Chelsea fair.

Ingrid Nilson, Director of The Antiques Dealers Fair Limited told ANF: “I was very happy to collaborate with 2Covet for the 2022 staging of our popular event in Petworth Park and I am now equally pleased to see the fair enter its next phase under new management and ownership.

It was an honour to be invited by the National Trust to launch the event in 2015 following an introduction by Jackie Tudor, chair of the Petworth Business Association at the time, and it has been a privilege to own and nurture this very special show. I have had the most wonderful support from my own team, the loyal contractors, the businesses in Petworth, the teams at Petworth House and the National Trust and of course the many committed exhibitors who make this fair so special.

However, after eight years during which the fair has grown in stature and size, the time is right for an organisation with a bigger reach and the ability to build on what we have achieved to take the reins. The vision that the 2Covet directors have for the fair’s future is one that enhances rather than alters it and I look forward to working with them and Sophie Wood to ensure a seamless hand over.”

Sophie Wood told ANF: “It is no secret that during the past eight years Ingrid and her trusted team have created a fabulously successful event that not only benefits the dealers but also the town of Petworth and its surrounding, supportive community and therefore we were honoured to be approached by Ingrid to continue her work.

It is an event that my 2Covet colleagues and I are relishing to host. Ingrid has done such a sterling job in establishing the fair that there is very little that we wish to change. I am a great believer in not trying to fix something that isn’t broken, maybe we can just sprinkle some of the magic dust that bought Chelsea back to life last year. We have a dynamic setup with new and innovative ideas and the skills to further compliment what Ingrid has built.”

Many of the existing Chelsea fair exhibitors also cross over with the Petworth Park fair, which is a good dynamic to have. Going forward, we will be looking to add extra value to their stand packages by utilising the skill sets of our in-house development and marketing team, headed up by my fellow director Zara Rowe.”

Editor's Note:  We wish Sophie, Zara and their team all success at Petworth, which Ingrid and her team developed into their flagship event with a very long exhibitor waiting list. The work by the ADFL team to engage with the National Trust and the local antiques community was an example of how working together can achieve great results.  The local Petworth trade community  supported this event to the fullest since its launch and the results have been stellar.

We look forward to working with Sophie and her team at the fair and will be excited to watch developments!
