Altus Arts - Shelley Harmony ‘drip-ware’ charger
ABOUT THIS FAIR: |
Nine months after the last Giant ‘Shepton Flea’ the gates open again on Sunday, 30 May 2021. "We are delighted to be back and like last time in August 2020, we will be all outdoors,’ explains organiser Sue Ede from S & P Fairs, who has been running this very popular event with her husband Peter Hodder and daughter Katie Ede for 20 years. Following on from the successful event summer which was run entirely outdoors, with more than 250 stallholders, allowing everyone socially distance across the large showground, this May Bank Holiday edition will again be run as an outside only event. Again the stands will be mainly pre-booked outside pitches which has been a highly successful innovation because of the Track & Trace system. Dealers are advised to continue to pre-book their stalls in advance although there will be a number of casual outdoor pitches will be available from 7.30am only, on the day. Sue Ede told ANF: "We’ve studied all the latest guidelines and will be taking all the necessary precautions as we should. The event will be Covid Secure, meeting all the latest requirements." |
Many treaseures to be found from art to garden paraphanalia
WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT THIS FAIR: |
Many stallholders will be returning as usual, including Carol Hayball specialising in Pandora jewellery; Richard Paul with vintage records; Gwen Rogers showing vintage clothes and jewellery, the ever-popular Foy & Co with over 500 rolls of fabric for upholstery and cushions; Focus Toys offering many childhood memories, Russell Rawlings with silver spoons and Skyesplace specialising in gardenalia. One of the best known faces from across the world of antiques and decorative pieces will be King George Antiques showing furniture and decorative pieces. Among the many tens of thousands of pieces on sale will be a superb Shelley Harmony drip-ware charger. Dating from the 1930’s, this fine and rare example of the range will be on sale from Altus Arts with a price of £160. The ‘Shepton Flea’ started in 2001 after Sue Ede had spent more than 20 years running antiques fairs and markets across the country under her own name and with big exhibition companies. Sue recognized an opportunity to provide the West Country with an affordable one-day fair that combined a huge range of vintage and collectable pieces offered for sale by trade and private sellers.

With over 400 stalls inside and out the fair offers everything for sale from antiques, jewellery, militaria, prints and pictures,
