Arthur Swallow Fairs’ Covid-19 Trade Support: |
Arthur Swallow Fairs have, like to many of our clients, sadly had no choice but to decimate their fairs calendar for the next few weeks, and like all of us are doing their best to find a way through this crisis for their own business but importantly for their wide client base who are all suffering along with them. The team at AS Fairs have sent this message to their audience: To all of our exhibitors, buyers, supporters and the wider trade community, with UK ‘lockdown’ now in place and our April events cancelled (we are still planning for May onwards and will update you as soon as we can) we find ourselves in an extraordinary situation, one that no business or trader, however large or small, could possibly have been prepared for and we feel we have to offer what support we can. As a small family-run business which supports independent businesses and traders, we fully understand the impact the next few weeks/months will have on us all and our thoughts are very much with the trade. Through our social media and database we have the capacity to reach 35,000 plus people and would like to use these platforms to give the trade some help whilst fairs are halted. We will be using our online powers to help you remain visible, keep networking functioning and help get word out that you are still trading. We understand that many don’t operate online, so we are also looking into how we can support you. We also understand that getting orders out at this time will be disrupted but are sure that arrangements can be made for fulfilment once there are less restrictions in place. We will do our absolute best to support who we can but please be patient with us as we’ve never offered this kind of support before and we don’t know quite how much interaction there will be.

We’ll be using this to keep our database up-to-date with the blogs we post and any other updates regarding the current situation. You can sign up to our newsletter over on our homepage. Updated: 9 April:
Charles Hanson of Hanson’s Auctioneers hosting a fundraising auction from his garden shed to raise money to the NHS (a whopping 36k was raised) and the Virtual Vintage Fair on Instagram which is showcasing 35 fantastic dealers, and many others. It's been very heart-warming to see everyone pull-together. With the ability to reach in excess of 35k plus people, we have so far used our social media to share the profiles of 56 dealers, which have in turn been shared. Whilst fairs are halted we’re here to help and would really like to support you if we can – we’re sure there are more than 56 dealers out there who could do with our support, so do get in touch. Our Covid-19 Support Dealer Directory has now been launched over on our blog and it will constantly be added to and updated - please do take a look (and share if you can), there are some great dealers who are continuing to trade against the odds.
