ABOUT THIS FAIR:

The second year for British Art Fair 3-6 October at the Saatchi Gallery, where the magnificent museum quality galleries provide the perfect backdrop for its superb showcase of art, promises to be another must see with more than 50 exhibitors for this 31st edition of the prestigious event.

Now under the ownership of Robert Sandelson who told ANF: "The fair’s move to Saatchi Gallery last year was a great success. We look forward again to the discoveries, the bold exhibitions and broad celebration of British art of the last century.”

Britain’s key 20th and 21st century artists including Henry Moore, David Hockney and Barbara Hepworth to Damien Hirst, Grayson Perry and Chris Ofili will be presented by more than 50 of the country's leading galleries - see exhibitor list: British Art Fair Exhibitors. In addition, a curated series of special exhibitions will include the YBAs, Alan Davie and David Inshaw.

British Art Fair (BAF) was founded in 1988 as the 20th Century British Art Fair and remains the only fair dedicated to Modern British Art and will this year coincide with Frieze London Week

WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT THIS FAIR:

On Friday 4 October at 14:00 the artist David Inshaw will be present at the retrospective of his work at BAF 2019, curated by The Redfern Gallery and Andrew Lambirth long time Spectator art critic and author of David Inshaw: Between Fantasy and Reality. Inshaw’s work is renowned for its mood of celebration: of the beauties of the natural world as well as the women who have been his muses. That generosity of spirit is balanced by an intimate appreciation of the great artists of the past, whose works are frequently referenced in his own work. David Inshaw reaffirms with wit and warmth the human place in the world and our part in its larger beauty.

Location: David Inshaw Special Exhibition, Ground Floor

Other talks taking place at the fair include:

MEET THE ARTIST: Patrick Hughes, Friday 4th October 12:00
TALK: Gavin Turk, Friday 4th October 15:00
TALK: Sir Norman Rosenthal, Friday 4th October 16:00
