ABOUT THIS FAIR:

Leading the way in the design trade since 1985, The Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair opens the door to the autumn show season in London from 1-6 October 2019.

The centenary year of the School of Bauhaus provides the theme for the 2019 Autumn Foyer Display,  and avant-garde 20th century designs will take centre stage. All items in the foyer display are drawn from exhibitors and are for sale.

The School generated a rich variety of artistic movements during its years of productivity, and its’ students experimentations inspired diverse developments in the worlds of architecture, design and new modes of living which resonate in the curated displays of more than 160 dealers at this sell out edition of the Decorative Fair which is the interior trade’s favourite period design show, with a cornucopia of specialist dealers in decorative antiques and design, 20th century classics, and accessories, of every era from early Georgian to post-modernism.  Works of art are offered dating from antiquity to the contemporary.

The fair hosts an international line up of exhibitors from Europe and the UK including regulars Macintosh & Nadin Antiques, period country and Arts & Crafts furniture and mirrors, Fontaine Decorative, French and English furniture and accessories for the relaxed interior, Martin D Johnson, cross century furniture and design with an accent on garden decoration, Wakelin & Linfield with fine decorative and country furniture, and On-Reflection Mirrors Ltd; others are recent newcomers such as Hansord with fine furniture, scientific instruments and works of art, Anthea AG Antiques with chic gem-set jewellery  and Berenis of Spain with fine decorative antiques and modern design (all located up on the Mezzanine); Joost van den Bergh with Asian art, Anthony Outred with fine country house antiques, Thurstan and Sans Pretension with decorative design and antiques, Gray MCA with textile and fashion art, and Christopher Butterworth with period lighting and fine objects.

For full exhibitor list see Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair, Autumn 2019 exhibitor list.

WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT THIS FAIR:

The Fair offers a multi-layered collection of formal and decorative antiques with art and accessories for the interior decorating buyer, having been one of the earliest antiques events to introduce post-war and mid-century modern design, re-purposed antiques and contemporary art and industrial and salvaged architectural antiques to the antiques fair arena. Its informal vibe and friendly atmosphere is renowned internationally, as is its unique welcome to well-behaved dogs.

The venue in Battersea Park is easily accessible from Chelsea, Sloane Square and Knightsbridge using the free shuttle service to the Fair from outside the Sloane Square Hotel; it runs four times an hour during Fair opening times.  On the Mezzanine, a licensed brasserie opens daily one hour prior to the Fair, offering all-day home-cooked food, from breakfast to tea, and with a wine and cocktail bar.  On-site packing and shipping services are available (UK and international).

The Fair opens Tuesday 1 October from 12pm til 8pm, and from 11am daily through Sunday 6 October 2019.  Closing times vary.  It takes place at Battersea Evolution, Battersea Park, London.  For full visitor information and to apply for complementary tickets, visit Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair complimentary ticket.
