The Spring Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair is Moving!

The Spring Decorative Fair is Moving! Mark your calendars!

The Organisers of the Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair have announced that the dates of their Spring event are moving from April to May.  Next year, 2020, the fair will be held from Thursday 14 to Monday 18 May 2020.

The Winter and Autumn Decorative Fairs retain their Tuesday to Sunday opening.  All three events are held at the Battersea Evolution marquee in Battersea Park, a short journey across the river from Chelsea, Knightsbridge and Sloane Square.

“The moveable feast of Easter has in the past sometimes presented a challenge to Spring Fair exhibitors with school-age children and grandchildren,” organiser Jane Juran told ANF.  “Moving the event to May should finally banish this issue once and for all, as well as allowing plenty of time for dealers to re-stock after January.  Changing the Spring Fair dates from April to May has been a long-running request from many of our exhibitors.  We are glad we’ve at last been able to grant it.”

The new dates also give the Fair a fresh, new ‘long weekend’ format, opening on a Thursday and running through until Monday.  Jane Juran added: “We look forward to promoting the Spring Fair as a fixed, not-to-be-missed set of dates in the international trade calendar, just like our Autumn and Winter editions.”

The Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair is an independently-owned, dealer-focused event that launched in September 1985.  It has been held three times a year in Battersea Park since 1998, initially in a canvas tent next to the pagoda, then moving to its current site (which was also the location of the Festival of Britain fairground in 1951) and a purpose-built structure.  More than 150 dealers take part in each fair; there will be 163 at the forthcoming Autumn event, which opens 1-6 October 2019.
