Antiques News - Antiques Fair - The Cotswolds Decorative Antiques & Art Fair, 27-29 October 2017

Andy Lambert of Fu Ts'ang Lung Oriental Antiques

ABOUT THIS FAIR:

Opening on the first weekend after the Christmas holidays the Cotswolds Decorative, Antiques & Art Fair, 3-6 January 2020, brings art and antiques specialists from across the UK to the proximity of the major antiques hub of the UK, Tetbury, Gloucestershire. This popular winter fair has always attracted a strong crowd of buyers keen to get back in the swing of things after the long break.  The range on show is from the traditional end of the market through to the contemporary taste for Nordic and Continental style.

The historic Westonbirt House, now a prestigious school, is host to the fair which occupies the Great Hall, Orangery and adjoining rooms.  Approximately 40 dealers offer plenty of choice for interior designers and the seasoned and first-time collectors. In addition, there is a range of exquisite personal gifts including antique jewellery, watches, mid-20th century designer jewellery and accessories.

Exhibitor Andy Lambert trades as Fu Ts'ang Lung Oriental Antiques and will be showing a range of artifacts, art and collectables acquired during his travels in China and Tibet. Many have religious theme, others are decorative items, useful household pieces and works of art. As Andy will explain, the interest in Asian art is currently very high as more pieces emerge from the region and collectors and decorators begin to appreciate their appeal.

Also specialising in Asian art will be Paul Burnett of Paul Burnett Antiques & Interiors. Among decorative pieces, Paul also shows rare Chinese earthenware and pottery figures of horses, camels and tomb attendants. Amelie & Melanie Caswell from Bristol specialize in smaller Japanese collectables including carvings and jewellery.  Continuing the Oriental theme will be
debut exhibitor Jon Irvine Antiques with some fine examples of Asian and Oriental art and antiques and European ceramics, glass and works of art.

Says organiser Sue Ede: "The fair offers a special mix of decorative antiques and 20th century pieces with fine art, collector’s pieces and personal items such as jewellery, silver, watches and vintage fashion."
