|WELCOME TO FRENCH LOFT:|
After a successful career in advertising, Rowland Leach decided to swap Soho for Sussex. Together with his wife Mary, they bought a beautiful country home near Chichester called West Stoke House, which was to become one of the finest, Michelin award winning hotels and restaurants in the area. For 10 years, West Stoke House offered guests an extraordinary restaurant with beautiful, stylish rooms set on the edge of the South Downs. Before they opened for business, they spent a year restoring and decorating the house in their chic yet rustic, country style; a process which cemented their passion for interior design and their love of french antiques.
Since then, the Rowland and Mary have continued to design venues and establishments across the south coast, all the while sourcing extraordinary antiques from Europe. French Loft, the name given to their interior design and antique furniture business, has developed a customer base who know what to expect from their stunning collections, understated and organic elegance.

S & L Flowers
French Loft were asked to work with S & L Flowers to redesign their Flower Store.
The brief was to create an Antique/Homestore with a vintage twist along side their already thriving flower business. The result was a friendly flower store with a delicate blend of French antiques and homewares.
They were delighted with the results. French Loft now has another presence in Chichester. Just one more goal achieved in the aim to blend the business with other creative stores.
Taking a more Nordic approach for our friends at Artisan and their brand new cafe in South Street, Chichester, West Sussex.
Having been given an open brief, this was a wonderful opportunity to create a relaxed environment. The building was gutted from top to bottom, exposing the fantastic original features. We paired polished concrete, washed wood floors with industrial fire escapes and mid Century styling, strong copper accents with Verner Panton lighting and reclaimed tin tiles on the bar. The balance between the limewashed brick and flint walls and mid century styling created a warm but clean look.
