ABOUT THIS FAIR:

This is an exciting new fair for the Galloway Antiques Fairs calendar to be called The Quality Antiques & Fine Art Fair.

Already well-known for their twice-yearly antiques and fine fairs at Scone Palace in Perth, the popular event organiser's new fair will be held at George Watson's College, located in the affluent Merchiston area of Edinburgh.

Around 35 nationally reknowned dealers will come together to exhibit antiques and fine art in the fields of town and country furniture, silver, porcelain, jewellery, clocks, mirrors, oriental rugs, antiquarian books, maps and prints, antique and contemporary paintings and bronze sculpture and decorative items for the home.

WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT THIS FAIR:

The new venue, George Watson’s College, now a co-educational independent day school, was first established as a hospital in 1741, becoming a day school in 1871, and merging with its sister school, George Watson’s Ladies College in 1974.

Famous for producing such figures as Sir Chris Hoy, Sir Malcolm Rifkind, David Steel and Jack Docherty, George Watson's College makes an ideal setting for this fair. Stands will be set out in the entrance foyer which leads directly into the oak floored assembly hall, with the bonus of home-baked treats for exhibitors and visitors from the school's 'Bun Room'.

The event will feature many regular exhibitors including Scarab Antiques, as well as popular local dealers, including Julia Drinkhall, E. A Alvarino, Cathedral Antiques, Roselane, John Briggs and Hilary Farquharson.
