Mick Rooney RA: From Genesis to Nemisis - 4 - 23 March 2019

Distinguished Royal Academician Mick Rooney is holding his fifth solo show entitled ‘From Genesis to Nemesis’ at The Fosse Gallery, The Manor House, The Square, Stow on the Wold, GL54 1AF from 4-23 March 2019.  The exhibition brings together around 30 new works with prices ranging from £2,500 to £30,000.

Mick Rooney is one of the most distinctive British artists working today.  His paintings display a mastery of colour and are mostly characterized by fantastic flights of the imagination.  The subject matter appears to be decorative and approachable but the underlying story behind them is worth pondering on.  Says Rooney of his work, “the paintings talk in parables in the way society is gobbling up resources and regurgitating a load of nonsense”.  They explore the inner mythologies, neurosis, dreams and secrets that are so much a part of today’s social landscape.
